For the 2019 Grammys, Cardi B dipped into the House of Mugler archives, to find what would be her most memorable red-carpet look to date. The creation was the 'Birth of Venus' dress from the haute couture autumn/winter 1995 collection, and was just the first of many vintage Mugler looks the singer would step out in.

Beyoncé

Mugler worked with Beyoncé on her epic 2009 worldwide tour, where the designer helped put together more than 50 looks for the singer and her backing dancers, while he also creatively advised on other elements of the tour, including lighting and choreography. Before the collaboration, the singer had worn one of his vintage designs on the cover of her album 'I Am...Sasha Fierce'.

George Michael

Mugler was behind the costumes in George Michael's 'Too Funky' music video, which saw a number of supermodels on the catwalk at a fictitious runway show, including Eva Herzigova, Linda Evangelista and Tyra Banks. Watch the video here.

Mugler was responsible for one of the most famous movie dresses of all time, the black cut-out gown that Demi Moore wears in Indecent Proposal.

Diana Ross

David Bowie

Bowie and Mugler worked together on numerous occasions, including in 1979 for the singer's 'Boys Keep Swinging' video, in which he wore a tight-fitting gown. The designer also dressed the singer when he married Iman in 1992.

Kim Cattrall

In the first Sex and the City movie, actress Kim Cattrall wore an archive yellow jacket by Mugler, which was originally from the autumn/winter 1988 collection. Her character, Samantha Jones, wore a number of vintage Mugler designs over the years, put together by costume designer, Patricia Field.

Lady Gaga

For the music video of 'Telephone', Lady Gaga wore a vintage dress and hat by Mugler. She later wore another vintage Mugler dress to the 2011 Grammys (which she revealed after climbing out of an egg).

Grace Jones
