Chanel Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture: Runway Hair, Makeup, More
Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2024 haute couture show today centered not only on creative director Virginie Viard’s newest collection, but also on a single style detail in particular: the button. An oversize prototype of the fashion house’s interlocking C jacket button hung over the Paris runway like a crown jewel, in a nod to both grace and utilitarianism.

Models debuted fresh-faced, barely-there makeup looks to coordinate with the collection’s feminine balletcore details, including dance-inspired leotards and tights, as well as a predominance of tulle and lace. Actor and house ambassador Margaret Qualley—a former ballet dancer—set the beauty tone for the show with bold brows, flushed cheeks, and glowing skin that seemed equal parts effortless and meticulous. The look was achieved using Chanel’s Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch applied with the Les Pinceaux de Chanel 2-in-1 Foundation Brush Fluid and Powder N°101, and set with its Poudre Universelle Libre.

The house captured a barely-there eye look using the taupe beige shade on the bottom left of Les 4 Ombres 388 Éclat de Nuit in the crease, with Le Volume Révolution de Chanel 10 Noir mascara lightly applied in the middle of the top eyelashes. And to complete the ballerina look, artists used the brand's hydrating Rouge Coco Baume in 938 Keep Cool all over the lips, and polished runway nails with Le Vernis nail lacquer in Skieuse, a frosted pink.

Along with select other models’, Qualley’s half-up hairdo was accented with the season’s must-have accessory: a hair bow. The Chanel runway also showcased closely coiffed natural styles and center- and side-parted beachy waves that emphasized the movement of each look.
