Jennifer Lopez Brings the Drama in a Puffy Black Gown and Cape
When it comes to Jennifer Lopez, you can count on her to bring her bold, bombshell best to any and every occasion. No one does sizzling red, daringly high leg slits, bodycon dresses, or sexy cutouts quite like the multi-hyphenate. However, today, she left her usual trademarks behind, and instead opted for something darker, puffier, and über-dramatic.

The “On the Floor” hitmaker attended the grand opening of One&Only One Za’abeel urban resort in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in a romantic, funeral-chic ensemble. Lopez commanded the room in a strapless satin black gown, which featured a fitted bodice with a second decorative layer of fabric, which was split down the center and folded over itself, a midi A-line skirt. For a coquette touch, a massive bow was knotted at her waist and cascaded down below her skirt to her ankles. She added a grand matching floor-length cape with a huge, pronounced collar, puffy sleeves, wide cuffs, and an ultra-broad, pleated construction, along with opulent white opera gloves.
The Hustlers star added some height with inky-black platform pumps that featured a life-size floral detail along the ankle strap. And of course there was bling: a glittery diamond ring and gorgeous statement earrings boasting emeralds surrounded by diamonds. Lopez styled her caramel locks in a slicked-back ponytail, with a few tendrils of hair loose around her ears, and glammed up with a delicate purple smoky eye, rosy blush, and shiny pink lips.
Later in the evening, J.Lo returned to her usual glitz and glam to perform with Mark Ronson at the Sphere bar at the Link. For the show, she changed into a dazzling electric-purple high-neck jumpsuit, completely covered in shimmery reflective sequins. Adding to the bling, she wore a wide diamond-encrusted bracelet and matching choker, several diamond statement rings, and oversize silver hoops. Ever the maximalist, Lopez donned an ultra-luxurious deep purple fur coat. She wore her usual sultry, smoky glam and styled her hair in a half-up, half-down slick-back.

Lopez appears to be loving a ball-gown moment lately. Earlier this month, performing “This Is Me … Now” for the first time on Saturday Night Live, she was breathtakingly beautiful in a majestic off-the-shoulder gown composed completely of pale pink roses and wispy white feathers. The dreamy Nicole + Felicia piece featured a trailing, floor-sweeping skirt with a heart-racing leg slit that went up to her hip and large, bushy sleeves.
