Jennifer Lopez Returns to the Bronx in a Silky Royal Blue Outfit
She will always be Jenny From the Block.
Jennifer Lopez just returned to her home neighborhood of the Bronx for the premiere of her new musical film, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story. J.Lo walked into the New York City borough’s AMC Bay Plaza on Thursday wearing a silky royal blue ensemble with nods to her native state.
The dramatic fit, pulled from the Donna Karan Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 1996 collection, included a plunging sleeveless jumpsuit, which Lopez layered under a large matching coat that she left hanging off her shoulders. Her midnight blue pieces were paired with pops of black, including Lopez’s pointed-toe heels and leather gloves, plus a leather baseball cap, which added a casual (and New Yorker–approved) touch to her otherwise elegant ensemble.

Meanwhile, the Marry Me star winked to her birth state with jewelry from Marli, which included a round pendant necklace and two collar necklaces, plus matching earrings. All of these accessories were pulled from the brand’s “Empire Collection,” which honors the architecture and imagery of the Empire State.

This Is Me…Now: A Love Story is a fantasy rom-com musical that traces Lopez’s romantic history all the way from her first loves to her current marriage to Ben Affleck. The genre-bending film (now available to stream on Amazon Prime) is tied to Lopez’s new ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now (a sequel of sorts to her 2002 LP, This Is Me…Then). In the lead-up to the release of both projects, Lopez has been pulling out all kinds of glamorous ensembles, even going so far as to wear three attention-grabbing fits in less than 24 hours on Thursday.
