Kendall Jenner revives Chanel's 2.55 ankle bag
Kendall Jenner has reminded us of a Chanel treasure that has long been forgotten - the mini 2.55 anklet bag first introduced in 2008.
The model shared a picture of herself wearing it on Instagram Stories, along with then caption, "It only fits joy." The accessory measures a tiny three inches by three and a half inches, enough to store a debit card or perhaps a lipstick, and comes with a braided strap to tie round an ankle or wrist.
The unusual style is still available to buy in gold via resale site The Luxury Closet for £580. Designed as an alternative to the favoured oversized bags of the time, The Week wrote that it was aimed to store a lip gloss and a platinum card - all you need for "life in fast lane".

Chanel's micro ankle bag fits nicely into the current fashion landscape for two reasons - not only does it nod to the rise of anklets, which are short becoming favourites of influencers, it also forms part of the mini bag trend, a style that has been gaining momentum over the last few seasons. Chloé’s popular Nile bag is only 13cm long; the mini Dionysus by Gucci is just 20cm long and Jacquemus' mini Rond bag measures a tiny 12cm.
Jenner has secured herself a gem indeed.
