Margot Robbies buttery blonde hair in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
On the promotional tour for the most talked-about film of the summer, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, star Margot Robbie has been channelling her character Sharon Tate with 1960s-inspired styling.
For one photo call in Cannes she showcased baby braids in the front of her hair, just as Tate wore to the film festival in 1968. It served as instant inspiration for every long-locked festival-goer this summer.
While Robbie’s hair has grown out since filming, and now has more of an expensive-looking ombre effect to it, in the Quentin Tarantino movie her character sports an all-over buttery blonde. It’s stunning.
Hollywood hair colourist Rita Hazan – who works with the likes of Beyonce – tells Bazaar that, as opposed to beachy, “it’s a very natural, but warm look,” which makes it the perfect blonde for entering autumn/winter.
She explains: “Her highlights are subtle to add dimension, but not streaky or chunky at all.” If you wanted something similar, ask your colourist for “a tone-on-tone golden blonde with buttery highlights,” she instructs.
