‘Treasure’, the theme for Bazaar’s ninth annual short-story competition, inspired hundreds of submissions exploring topics including memory, nature and the first throes of romance. The challenge of finding a winner was taken up by a team of judges comprising Bazaar’s editor-in-chief Lydia Slater, features director Helena Lee and contributing literary editor Erica Wagner, the author Monica Ali, Bloomsbury Publishing’s Alexandra Pringle, and Caroline Michel from the literary agency PFD. After much enthusiastic debating over lunch at Claridge’s, the panel awarded the top accolade to Kaliane Bradley, for her tale about motherhood, cultural heritage and David Bowie.

Kim Kardashian celebrated her birthday with a red-hot spin on her penchant for skintight silhouettes. The Skims founder marked her 43rd turn around the sun with a birthday dinner at the hotspot Funke in Beverly Hills, where she was surrounded by friends and family including Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Hailey Bieber. Tonight, the beauty mogul and mom of two arrived at fashion's biggest event in a voluminous ivory ball gown from Off-White, which featured a ruffled skirt and a sheer corset bodice. The look even included a white baseball cap that had an attached netted veil and floral details. Other accessories included chandelier earrings and clear stilettos.
